Skills required include the provision of advice, parenting skills, health promotion, health education and psychosocial interventions and to promote the principles of self care with families empowering them to access and use health resources in their community.
At times there are interventions required such as group work and individual support which have been identified by the Health Visitor ( e.g. families who have been identified as requiring additional support) and you will work mainly independently without direct supervision in the family home on a day to day basis.
Daily workload will be varied with a range of activities delegated by the Health Visiting team. The postholder will hold
- SVQ3, HNC in child care or NNEB equivalent
- Demonstrate a minimum of 2 Years working with Children /Young People and families
- Ability to work n own initiative within a Team
- The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday
